Safeguarding and Child Protection at Porchester

At Porchester, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do!

We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where all children feel valued, protected, and able to thrive. Our robust safeguarding policies and procedures meet all statutory requirements and ensure that the welfare of every child is our highest priority.

Safeguarding at our school goes beyond policy — it is embedded in our daily practice.

We promote a strong culture of vigilance through clear behaviour expectations, anti-bullying initiatives, and comprehensive online safety measures. Safeguarding is explicitly taught through our personal development curriculum, empowering children with the knowledge and skills to stay safe in school, online, and in the wider world.

Our dedicated staff receive ongoing training to identify and respond to concerns swiftly, and we work in close partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide the best possible support for our pupils.

By fostering a school community built on trust, respect, and care, we ensure that every child at Porchester feels safe, heard, and supported—both now and in the future.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads

At Porchester, our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils. They are responsible for identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns, supporting children and families, and working closely with external agencies to provide the right help when needed.

Our Senior DSL oversees the safeguarding provision across the school, ensuring that policies and procedures are effectively implemented, staff are well-trained, and a strong safeguarding culture is maintained. They provide strategic leadership, ensuring that safeguarding remains a top priority in every aspect of school life.
